There are 5 major patterns associated with hemorrhoids, which acupuncture aims to treat: flatulence, dry intestine, inflammation, spleen deficiency and poor blood circulation. In order to target these symptoms and thus the cause of the hemorrhoids, needles are placed in specific points on the body corresponding to the pressure-point maps, for eg. The ear is associated with the lower intestinal region of the body. Needles are generally kept in place for 20-30 minutes and this hemorrhoid treatment can be repeated everyday. Chinese acupuncture can claim some success in treating a variety of physical conditions and may prove a successful hemorrhoid treatment.
